I've read claims that the huge BAC/Saudi Arabia Lightning deal some years ago was liberally sprinkled with the stardust of loose cash, and that fingers were pointed at a number of highly-placed British government representatives. Grease and palms have a magnetic attraction, I suppose, no matter what the rules say.
