This is what seems to work for me -
Read the instructions.
Have passport ready for the reader.
Put luggage down on the floor.
Stand on the green feet marks on the floor.
Take off glasses.
Look like your passport photo - straight ahead, no smiling.
Wait.
Wait more.
Then just when you think it ain't working the gate opens.
