FAA license=FAA medical
EASA license=EASA medical
Understood that part... but what if you have a restriction on your EASA Medical... (in my case I have an OML) but if I also have an Unrestricted FAA Class 1.. then where is the land of the law here?

The advice often is "you may be able to get an FAA Medical".. if you plan to work in Asia, ME etc.. A big IF.. but still begs the question:

Does that mean you need to convert the EASA to FAA first?

Seems a bit of a long way round.
