Airgrab

Has anyone examined the latest edition - Sheet 2171AB Northern England and Northern Ireland (Edition 26) and compared it with Edition 25.

Physically open up both charts to their full size, compare and contrast: there can only be one conclusion. This must be the biggest airspace grab ever.

March 20th seems to be the date everything really started to take a turn for the worse. Simultaneously in IFR world new reporting points such as OTBED and DOPEK (SW of Ottringham) were formed. Seems to me that the same folk that invent the names for these reporting points are probably figuring which section of our precious air they want to populate with a Boeing once in a blue moon.

No doubt several retired air vice marshals, Eurocrats, Airspace Regulatory Advisors and the "leaders" of GA community were blended into one enormous focus group and agreed after years of consultation and reflection that this is a well adjusted a appropriate compromise.

Sometimes you wonder that you have been endowed with just enough perception to be able to see clearly how utterly inadequate an observation is when confronted with what exists.
