Callum Johnstone wrote - It was an interesting programme, highlighting the years of under-investment at EDI that led to incidents such as that chaotic check-in.

Investment and economic contribution
In last 10 years: Over £260 million - I suppose BAA
In next 10 years: Over £240 million - I suppose GIP
For your information that check in hall will be the most expensive part of any upgrade to be made to EDI as the building 60's design is really restrictive and ultimately could end up costing GIP in the region of £100's of millions to address. This is the reason why GIP are trialing all sorts of IT solutions to get more people through that area without building just like BAA considered which demonstrates very wise decision making on both companies part.
One final point that should be a matter of public record which most EDI folk appear to have forgotten these days was that BAA had already publicly committed to a capital spend of £500m for EDI between 2010 and 2020 as BAA had recognised that to sort the capacity issues being faced by EDI which had by then become Scotland's busiest airport required significant infrastructure changes.
