9 months is not really a long time. Plenty of people have waited longer, also a lot have waited less but thats just the way their schemes work.
When did you finish training? How many places have you applied to? Have you considered all routes?
I had to wait over a year to get my first jet job, but I went out of my way find a job in between to give me some experience (and also a small (very small) wage). Lots of people wait plenty longer than this as well.
Everyones situation is different, I just feel that at 19 years old, if you can afford to pay for a 30k assessment, you can probably afford to spend some more time hunting, searching, and if needs be waiting for a better opportunity to come along.
