I think XRX has offered some good advice, but temper your enthusiasm a little when considering a career with VAA.
Yes you will have a GDOJ number that will buy you what ever it is worth on the day but the puppies who want it all, and want it NOW then the road to a Command will be a very long one.
For those that will accept every seat change and every type change and every base change as another chapter in a long and challenging career then they will do well.
Be prepared to sit in the RHS for a long time as the VARA guys will sit patiently in their current positions waiting for a VAA position that they will be willing to accept. That's assuming they do get included on the VAA list.
A new hire today stands behind every VAA/VAI/VANZ/VARA piLot before he/she is offered a Command. And that command will be most likely be at the bottom of the pecking order.
Great company and I do enjoy the job and the people but it is VERY different for a new hire joining tomorrow as far as career progression.
