But good luck when you do do it! Sorry I don't have any specific advice for your northern area... but as has been said above you really should be able to get a thorough briefing on this from your instructor before you go (don't go if not comfortable!) but I think its also cool that you find out as much as you can from here and elsewhere before speaking to your instructors, and think the route through step by step. A good rule of thumb is that it should take you longer to plan than to fly it!
