BVC has no suitable let down aids so its the airport that lets you down when the aircraft cannot get in. BVC reguarly has some low clouds that are at about 1000" agl, the only aid is an NDB letdown that must be flown in its entirety for whats known as a cloud break procedure. The NDB serves runway 21 but the predominant wind is always northerly so land on runway 03. The authorities really need to invest in a GPS approach for runway 03 as most of the Thomson fleet is now fully approved for GNSS approaches, there is no outlay for ground equipment, just pay to set up an approach!!! But I guess that the airport tax you pay never actually serves the actual airport.

Also, there are few, if any runway/approach lights so there can be NO night flights to/from the airport.
The current 737 is probably at the limit of its range and I don't know how much better the Max will be. BUT....the 757s will be around for at least the next 6 years
