Blackjack's story may not belong in this thread. Back then, Beech was pushing the type as a military trainer. About that time Nick O'Keefe (from memory) was killed in a spin accident while demonstrating to the military. There is still at least one aerobatic straight-tailed Bonanza in Australia.
