Doesn't seem to work with IE11, I have to manually type [ quote ] and [ /quote], (without spaces also).
When the 'Reply to Thread' window opens, click on the 'A/
A' button in the top right corner of the 'Message' panel. The background of that panel will change from cream to white, and the 'quote' button (like a speech balloon) will now work as nature intended - as will some of the other edit functions.
