It's Fox News, what do you expect?

One of the easier ways to manufacture misleading propaganda: report two unrelated stories at the same time, in order to create an impression of a third story. E.g. "The house of a prominent Republican leader in a suburb of Washington DC was broken into last night. Burglar got away with a set of antique silverware and a few pieces of jewelry. President Obama was spotted in the neighborhood of the break-in the previous evening, allegedly on his way to a charity dinner. Detectives investigating the break-in refused to comment on the investigation, citing orders from their superiors."

In this case, we have a legitimate story about the fall of Tripoli Airport, and a few scattered mentions of the anniversary of 9/11, presented as if they had anything to do with each other. The article does not even make any serious attempts to look into the identity of the force that captured the airport, it designates them as "Islamist" (well, duh ... last I checked, 97% of Libyans are Muslim) and that's all that is needed to hint at a 9/11 link.
