Perfect information - just as I have come to expect from this forum.
Flying fast jets is dangerous, in 1958 it was an absolute hazard to health and those of you who flew these early combat aircraft doubtless lost some good friends in the process - but some fatal accidents just seemed so avoidable and for me this is one of the worst.
Thanks for helping me understand exactly what happened and why.
