Airfield Flora and Fauna (wildlife)

Hi all, yes this is a strange one, but we all know that flying from small quite strips we do share the site with Mother Nature. However I am unable to find any reports / publications / surveys highlighting what wildlife / habitat the average small airfield / strip supports. The GAAC have a general publication as to what to expect and how to create habitat but all that seems to be on the web is why airfields are bad for birds. I did have a chat to a Wildlife Trust man at his tent / stall at a Duxford event a couple of years ago who chatted at length on the positive features that the Duxford site offered to wildlife but he was unable to supply any details as to positive reports / publications etc. No doubt within wildlife circles he would be classed as an endangered species!! If any of you are aware of positive reports titles, links would be appreciated. Happy Landings.
