Crash near Barnack
Hi Hellys,
My uncle was S/L Eric Rupert Chalk (My father's brother) and I do have a cutting of the Daily Mail of 30th July 1955 which mentions the crash. I too was told that the crew realised there was a problem and glided the plane away from the village in order to avoid crashing in the village. I was born in 1958 so never knew my uncle but am planning to go and visit his grave in Wittering church (Thanks T-21)
