You're taking it far too far. VC10man made a simple statement that he avoided the DC10 because it had too many crashes.

Sure the jumbo has flown far more hours to make up for its higher representation in fatal accidents, but VC10man didn't say he avoided the DC10 because it had a higher rate of accidents.

So I simply responded with in-kind comparisons.

I wasn't having a go, nor was I spruiking one manufacturer over another (though any simpleton can make up their own minds on that count...).

I feel quite strongly that the old DC10 got a raw deal over a couple of accidents that, after the problems that caused them were rectified, had a very good record.
