It's funny there is another thread about tiger losing $2 mil a week, and here we have Qantas losing more than $2 million a DAY....
I think you'll find that the QF loss is enhanced by very significant write downs of aircraft. Ie losses that have actually occurred in previous years but will now be lumped into this year because as one exco said a while back, if you're going to have a big loss, you may as well make full,use of it and make it really big so that you can move forward.
