There's a village in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with rather an unfortunate name - same as that BP garage minus the 'um'...
But there's an even more unfortunately named village in Austria, whose residents are getting very cross at the number of their signposts which have been stolen by tourists....
It's the village of F*cking......
The Waldhaus brewery in the Schwarzwald produce a 4.9% abv Pilsner beer named after the Austrian village. Initially there were objections to the name from the EU trade marks people and from the village's mayor (only because the beer wasn't actually brewed there), but these were overruled. So 'F*cking Hell' beer is now sold internationally!
It seems they
do haff ein sense of humour!
