One remedy that I have used with success is to commit minor mouse surgery and solder a small capacitor across the offending switch. I seem to recall a cap value of 1nF (one nanofarad) but I would recommend trying 100pF, 1nF, 10nF and 100nF to see which is needed.
Well... if you've got time on your hands you could do such a thing.
But given how cheap mice are these days, its not really worth the hassle.
