A couple of clarifications regarding India and its passengers might be in order here
India has no less than 15 national langauges! Hindi is "supposed" to be the national language, but the fact remains that in the two southernmost states of Tamil Nadu and especially Kerala you have as such much chance of being understood in Hindi as you have in Spanish! Airlines like Gulf Air and Qatar who are having daily flights to places like Trivandrum for many many years should by now atleast undertsand India is not just Hindi alone especially for these flights!Especially of concern here for me is when the new A380s come int othe scene! There will atleast be quite a few of these being operated in routes like Kuala Lumpur Madras or Dubai Cochin and in a real emergency lack of any information in languages like Tamil/Malayalam I guess can be a hassle!
And some thing regarding education levels which might be revealing for some of you!
About five years back ,it was reported that of the 100 odd people selected for the post of bus conductors for the local transport undertaking in the state of Kerala were 90 Graduates among whom were 40 odd post graduates! One of the candidates later subsequently managed to get into the state civil service!
India is a poor country and in Kerala especially because of major unemployment back home a lot of these labourers are in fact reasonably well educated people (compared to their western counterparts) forced to sweat it out on menial jobs in the gulf as the alternative is poverty back home!
This is just for your information, to the minority of you who still think Indians are uneducated compared to their own nationals!
