Maybe I am not fully understanding the AFTLS, as I can't seem to determine how a crewmember doing reserve in Toronto with a 2-1/4 hour call-out can be notified at 12:25 to travel at the company's request to a west coast port to operate a long-haul that night at midnight.
I know that the AFTLS have changed, but, that much?
Someone really smart should be able to enlighten us.
When it appears that lack of crew is being addressed by utilizing crew outside the limits of the AFTLS, a cause for concern (or education on how this can be done) exists.
