Just got called on my G day. Didn't answer. Message left asking if I could help with the flight tonight (check-in 13 hours from the call.) Flight from US west coast to HKG.
Checking the roster, I see a YTO FO who was on reserve today has been assigned the flight. Obviously he is not based in this west coast city, so the company is buying him a ticket.
How is it that the company can put PD on the roster yet buy him a ticket which arrives 4:56 before sign-on and then have him fly a 15-hour trans-Pac?
Isn't that in violation of the AFTLS or am I missing something?
