SOP's/Training Charges

Hi all

Spicejet recently inducted 31 type rated pilots and are charging them Rs15 lakhs for training SOP's. Jet Airways has hinted that they will follow suit and charge type rated candidates in future for internal training.

Sadly there is nothing we can do to reverse the trend, as supply has vastly outstripped demand.

I would like to whether the cost of training charged by the company is in any way justified. What does this training involve. How long does it last. How many hours of FFS is logged. What if a candidate requires extra sessions, are they billed for it separately.

What if a candidate requires type rating renewal (full or part). Does the company undertake this responsibility?

Your comments greatly appreciated.
