Back in LCY as the next trip fares were more reasonable again. But I just have to share a little gem about the check-in machines in the terminal entrance. These common-user machines check you in for most flights, so are presumably airport rather than airline property.
Start it off by scanning passport. It can't work out which pax I might be from my name, so next question is "type the first 3 letters of your destination". So I key in DUB.
Now just guess where I am going, from LCY. And which airport starting "DUB" is on the departures board. And think what code my bag tag is about to get. And it comes up with a likely list of names for my destination. And the first shown in the list, and thus the default, is ...........
