Positive bits... of older pilot in my experience .. Owners like us because we respect aircraft. Passengers like us because it makes them feel safe. Younger fellow pilots like us because we bring stability to a group of pilots on contract away from home
Negative bits... Learning new systems and technologies is not easy as we get older. dealing with a 7 hour day in 45 degree heat is exhausting and turning down those invites to party at a club until 4 am with the crew on the weekend off is tricky too
That said ,,, I love contract life even if I'm surrounded by lads young enough to be my kids and sometime have them as PIC too
My advice ,,, if flying is your passion ,,, then fly .. whatever it takes
