What would be the advantage for EK? They already have services to all mainland capitals (and capital). They would be buying a huge redundancy problem with the over-crewing of the 737, (unless they use it as a pilot farm for the 777, of course. The only upside might be a future play to get Pacific rights.
I can image EK dictating terms to Joyce about the allowable competition from JQ...that should be fun.
