To be rather cynical, I'd suspect the 380 visit is nothing more than
PR and marketing by EK and/or the DAA. It'll most likely get prime time coverage on the national news bulletins. Don't forget the DAA's recent public announcement in response to criticism that Dublin was A380 ready and capable. It could also be used to strengthen the case for 28R, and possibly the extension of the existing runway.
DUB has seen Concorde visits in the dim and distant past ... didn't mean there was any likelihood of a SST service from our little city.
