When I returned from 12 months at RAF Sharjah in 1964 I was posted to the commcen at "Commcen, AM London", living at RAF Northolt. Arrived at Northolt and got my season ticket on the Tube but great confusion arose when I tried to find "AM London" as everyone said it no longer existed; eventually arrived at "Defence Commcen".
