This is the worst possible announcement for PIK.
The winter is when it costs the mosts to heat the place, using the ancient oil fired system, and keep the runways clear of snow and ice.
The airport already loses over a pound per pax (an effective subsidy?), it just beggars belief that 500k pax will go anywhere close to covering any costs.
The Scottish Government had an opportunity back in November to change the management team for one that has drive and imagination but they chose to keep the old guard who changed nothing and this is the result.
With the announcement today that GARL is likely to go ahead now PIK loses its USP of having a railway station on site.
What future for PIK? Its pretty bleak out there...
