Why would there be higher yields at GLA than PIK for FR- it would essentially be the same punters but them just going up the road
That depends on the targetting. Higher yielding inbound tourism is being chased now and that inbound market was moved from PIK to EDI. With the Commonwealth Games, Glasgow's inbound marketing profile is going to be high whereas at the moment PIK's routes are in the main taking Scottish holidaymakers to the sun. There exists an opportunity for FR to go after a similar inbound demographic which would likely choose GLA over PIK.
I was through Barcelona (El-Prat) at the weekend and Ryanair have a base there where they even use *shock horror disbelief* !.....airbridges. The game is changing. btw they maintain a base at Girona as well.
