Bit of a surprise. BA have just taken delivery of three brand-new Embraer 190s, and there doesn't seem to have been that much schedule increase to use them, let alone these cancellations.
It does appear that for business travellers from GLA/EDI to London, long the staple of the trunk routes from Scotland to Heathrow compared to a lesser number on board transiting at Heathrow, they are progressively moving from Heathrow to City, notwithstanding that they may be heading for the West End or elsewhere rather than just The City/Canary Wharf. Of course, BA moving their terminal at Heathrow several miles further out (if you are going out on the M4 motorway) from Central London, to T5 rather than T1, didn't help. Heathrow congestion, the T5 timewasting shops slalom, and the Conformance nonsense aimed at those travelling halfway round the world from a gate down the Transit rather than a quick shuttle, all didn't help.
