To further muddy the waters, I have a letter from MoD advising me that I may retain my service rank as an honorary title. I retired as a Flight Lieutenant. I'd understood that the honorary permission was for Squadron Leader and above.
Needless to say, I do not take advantage of the kind offer.
p.s Attended a 'do' tonight where the speaker was a very well known PPRuNer and there were people, quite correctly, wearing miniatures with black tie. As a cold warrior of no distinction I don't have any - but I believe many of those who have, were almost killed getting them. I don't like getting almost killed
Hmm, not very clear there - Edited to say that I prefer getting almost killed to actually being killed.
