At the risk of dragging this thread even more off topic
When I first arrived in LA i was scared by what I saw on the chart, but its actually really easy to fly through the airspace here
I think Seaweed has hit the nail on the head. It is daunting when you first look at it, but I'm sure that after a couple of flights it becomes second nature - just as flying under the London TMA and avoiding Heathrow, Luton, Stanstead, Gatwick, Benson, Farnborough and lots of smaller airfields is second nature to me but probably looks daunting the first time someone sees it. But doing only one flight in the area (well, two - one inbound and one outbound) didn't give a chance to get over my first impressions.
