BA Band 4 Catering

Hi,

I have been taking a look at the current on board catering standards booklets(my flatmate works for BA) and I think that the wrap service is indeed to do with market differentiation. All LGW Band 4 flights in ET departing after 09.29 offer a bar service, followed by snack then tea and coffee. However, flying from LHR after 09.29 on Band 4 in ET, you get a full meal tray offered with hot meal. There are however three glaring exceptions, Heathrow to Las Palmas, Mykonos and Santorini, all of which offer the wrap snack service as at LGW. I think it is no coincidence that these are also holiday/leisure focused routes just like most Band 4 flights are at LGW. It would seem therefore that BA thinks leisure travellers only need (or justify??) a snack on board.....
