I can't claim to have known Mr Beeler, who was clearly a distinguished TP, nonetheless my sympathies to his friends, colleagues and family. The following was posted on the SETP website and has relevance to anybody who knew him.

Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation lost a dear friend and coworker on Saturday, April 26th, in the aircraft accident which occurred in Val Verde County, Texas. Carroll Beeler, SSAC Chief Test Pilot, was at the controls of Ship 2 when an as-yet undetermined problem arose. The chase plane immediately notified authorities, who were able to secure the scene and to provide confirmation that there were, sadly, no survivors.

Scottie and Lee would like to invite you to attend a Requiem Mass in Carroll’s honor at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Chapel, 7815 Orland Park, San Antonio, on Wednesday, April 30th, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. (This is a small chapel, where the mass is celebrated in Latin and head coverings must be worn by women attending. There are some mantias available for use if you do not own one, but if you have one, you should bring it with you.) There will also be a Memorial Service on Wednesday, April 30th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s for those of you who cannot or would prefer not to attend the mass. The Chapel is located right behind Lee High School, off of Jackson-Keller (not to be confused with St. Joseph’s Catholic Church downtown).

For those of you who have asked, here are the directions (courtesy of MapQuest) to
St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Chapel for the Wednesday morning services in honor of Carroll:

Take San Pedro/281S toward Loop 410.

Take 410W toward Blanco Road. Exit on Blanco; turn left.

Turn right on Antler Drive. Turn left onto Jackson Keller.

Turn right onto Orland Park Drive.

The address is 7815 Orland Park.

Estimated distance is 5.28 miles from the facility.
