I quite enjoyed 'smokin' Joe's' speech last evening. One of the big side benefits is the stress and anxiety it will cause in the 'public service' due to 'job' uncertainty. Unlike the poor buggers at Qantas, the PS have stress relief and flexi days available, hell they'll probably get free counselling to help deal with their upset, poor little sausages. No 3 a.m. get ups for them, no running about a ramp soaking wet trying to meet OTP, no dragging 2/300 individual bums half way around the world, back of the clock so the kids can go to school and eat. Nope, none of that for the PS. But it's all over the news, the poor darlings are swooning away with uncertainty; Aw, how my heart bleeds.
Next time I'm back on this planet- provided the revolution hasn't outlawed the gig; I wanna be a PS, hidden away in a cosy corner somewhere sharpening the pencils, carefully monitoring the coffee machine and counting the days to an early, lucrative retirement.
