Why would she want to sell it as an airport for next to nothing? With the government relaxing planning rules the land is worth millions. The woman appears to be ruthless and would have no qualms in making people redundant if she could increase her own personal fortune.
The big question is how would she deal with the airports tenants who occupy hangars etc?
Tenants just continue with their leases.
Site is worth more to the state by allowing building of a couple of thousand houses than as an underused airport.
