Some airport charts are bad depictions of the reality out there.
Very true! Depicted outlines/edges of hardstand areas quite often don't match reality.
The other gotcha is taxiways that are depicted as straight and true ...... but when you experience them on a dark night in lousy weather you find yourself noting kinks or chicanes in those taxiways. That so easily creates doubt as to whether you are on the taxiway you
thought you were, and it isn't just confined to 3rd world airfields!
