No raw nerves touched, it's just that it's boring to hear and read the same old anthem. Very much like black people don't like it when they hear "niggers are lazy"
it's equally unpleasant to hear/read "Spaniards are congenitally lazy".
They are a culture that is resistant to change and inflexible.
Says someone that comes from a country reluctant to use the metric system and have the driving wheel in the right hand side.
