It appears from the original post (remember that, guys?) that IR is wanting to finish a JAA PPL for which he has already flown 40 hours in the UK.

If this is the case, IR, then you need to ensure that whichever school you choose is registered with the UK CAA for JAR PPL training otherwise the instruction will not count towards the licence. You can, of course, start all over again for a FAA or SA licence.

The school must be a Registered Facility with the UK CAA as you are not permitted, under JAR, to train for any licence at schools registered with or approved by more than one member state. The rules do not permit you to commence training in a UK RF or FTO and finish, for example, in in a French RF or FTO.
