What a wonderfully vivid recollection from HarryM, a very welcome addition to our indomitable airborne "Band of Brothers" from WWII.
I fully endorse Chugalug's exhortation that Harry should hold nothing back, especially not regarding trains (speaking as someone who was allowed to "highjack" a DMU in Cornwall some years back
) and no Danny, please do not "rest on your oars" for too long (which I trust you spelled correctly....
)
One final comment, what a truly sad reflection regarding the apparent theft of Servicemen's, and especially POWs', parcels.
