LBC is a huge loss-making operation, and has always been since Ryanair appeared in 2000. There was a public vote on its future, and BC citizens withdrew their support - it could only remain open through this investor deal, who then disappeared. There is nil political support for this airport, particular at state level.
Anything that does not amount to a closure of LBC in the next few weeks would be a huge surprise.
