Exactly.
Situational awareness includes using your crew's eyes and ears and gaining as much info as possible before making a decision. Don't disengage the crew by making them feel they can't provide info to you as a skipper.
However, I agree the amount of changes in such a short space of time is unworkable.
My main gripe with the email system is that it's easy to miss an important FCI when I have about 10 emails telling who has won Baggage Services station of the month, and who had been promoted to Deputy Assistant Senior Vice President to the Assistant Deputy of Staples, Afghanistan.
