Reports are that part of the left wing separated at approx 4 kilometres altitude.
That's over 13,000 ft. I don't think that they would be dropping from that height. Usually 10,000.

Having done many para drops I wonder if the guys were hanging off the wing.

Furthermore I see it 'reported' that the pilot survived by jumping out. I have never worn a parachute in my life. As the captain I would go down with the ship doing my best for all on board.

there is a rumour flying around that there was a baby onboard.
