I heard somebody key the mike a few years ago.
Local ATC very efficiently went into emergency assistance mode.
There was a brief silence, followed by a different voice:-
"**** radar, G-XXXX cancel emergency, my student was not supposed to press the button".
No, don't touch the PTT !
