A brief should be brief, rambling on for minutes about the runway markings and possible incursions by idiots etc, should not be briefed
There is no problem with a brief being brief
if that is appropriate. However time spent teasing out some of the threats to a safe arrival is not wasted. I agree that there is no point in briefing for unknowable threats like someone taxiing in front of you - however next time I am in Bodrum you can bet your bottom dollar I will discuss the fact that professional pilots (just like me and the guy sat beside me) landed on the wrong bit of tarmac.
