Hello chaps. I seem to have missed this thread during my recent move.
Nick, Andromeda wasn't goal keeping, she was somewhere between Exeter, Cardiff and the Carriers. Not sure which ship was doing the goalkeeping job (one of the T22 was on San Carlos escort duty I believe), but after talking with Andromeda's lynx pilot as previously mentioned - he has confirmed that they were not doing that duty (after checking with some of their former ops officers).
There are two eye witnesses from this attacked that I would like to track down. They are the two pilots from 848 NAS who hid their Wessex behind Avenger during the attack, and subsequently fished out the life-raft from one of the downed A4s. According to Harry Benson's book, Scram, they were Ian Bryant and Dave Ockleton. If anyone knows how to contact them, please get in touch with me by PM or email
