Language proficiency

As I hold a uk JAA ATPL IR which I maintain from overseas, I have been told to be able to add my TRI to it I will need to do an ELP 6 at an approved uk school as the license must be converted to EASA. Also the bureaucrats have said I will need a uk issued part-med class 1 medical.

2 questions....

1. Is my European issued JAA class 1 medical deemed ok for me to fly on my uk JAA license (abroad in Europe) but not good enough to convert to EASA ?

2. Even though I got level 6 ELP with a European ICAO registered company and I'm bloody English, the assholes won't recognise it because it was not done by an English examiner..... So anyone know where I can sit a ground test in the west side of blighty ?

Needless to say I have not lived in the uk for many, many years and this whole farce is going to cost me a pretty penny

No wonder I fecking left
