mh370
Hi,
As we all are, I am intrigued by this situation. Sympathies to all the families.
As this is a new post I thought I might throw in my thoughts.
Incidentally I am an Air Traffic Controller and an avid Flight Simmer. I also have a PPL/IMC Rating. Not a full IR.
1. Have I got this right. A/c loses R/T contact followed by disappearance of the secondary (transponder). Subsequently Primary radar contact was lost ?
Some reports say tracked on primary by military radar. If so was this tracking continuous ? Verifiable ?
2.If not continuous, how was a primary return, tracking about 90 degrees off flight plan track, correlated to, or identified as MH370 ?
3. Possible reasons for loss of of R/T and Transponder?
Deliberate or malfunction ? Both separate systems? Deliberate or
malfunction ? Both....dubious ?
4. Loss of primary return ? A/c descended below radar cover. Deliberate or
malfunction.
Blind Velocity Speed ? Unlikely at cruise speed/altitude.
Tangential Fading ? Need to know the types of radar involved.
Climb to FL450, determined by height finding radar ? No way, using the equipment I was familiar with, Albeit many years ago.
Could someone please collate a list of the FACTS. Would be quite a short list ?
