Basically the jist of the Sunday Times article is that in order to pay for the latest high tech eqipment the military is going to lose even more of its strength.
The Army is to lose around 50 Challenger 2 tanks (because they werent useful in Iraq eh??)
The RAF is to lose a third of its Eurofighters
Worst hit is the Navy which will apparantly have the Type 45 programme cut back, and have its Nuclear attack subs cut back to seven.
Of course this is in my opinion sheer lunacy, I hope these proposals remain just that.
